The Pine Nut Mountain Trails Association motto is: Preserving Public Lands For Public Use. We're here to
assist you with any aspect of Pinenut use. If any questions arise as you surf through our site, just email webmaster@pnmta.org
The trail volunteer program is OHV riders maintaining access through education and public service. PNMTA members will be talking
to riders at staging areas and on the trail letting them know about cleanups and how they can get involved. Ride once a month and
help our sport while doing it. We need more certified riders who can talk to the public about preserving the Pinenuts for all riders.

The PNMTA formed in 1998 in response to concerns over the redirection of policy in the Pine Nut Mountain range. The
revised use plan is still being finalized as of this writing. We're still here and we still care.
We have been part of the solution. One of our main activities is clean up events. so far we have organized or participated
in numerous cleanups. The PNMTA is responsible for over 2080 Cubic Yards of trash and 22 cars removed from
the Pine Nuts! We have also thrown ride-in picnic parties, and staged a pony express style multi use ride to deliver our formal
recommendations to the BLM office. A mtn. biker handed off to a four wheeler, handed off to a horse, handed off to a motorcycle,
handed off to a runner. PNMTA members have shown up to countless planning and comment gathering meetings. Participation in the
process is a key to success. One of my favorite quotes is: "You can't get in the game if you don't suit up". This applies
to land use activism as well as sports.
Towards that end the PNMTA is gearing up to partner with the Great Basin Institute to work on a grant with the goal of identifying
the trails in the Pine Nut Mountains and establishing a management program. Stay tuned for further information on this project.
